Apa itu NPC

NPC Pernah dengar perkataan ini? Nama panjangnya : 'Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma' Nama melayunya: Kanser Belakang Hidung Kebanyakan Malaysian salah tafsir antara NPC dan Thyroid cancer. Bila ditanya, kanser apa? Kanser leher. jadi mesti semua fikir itu adalah kanser thyroid. Ok.. Lets see this.. Nasopharynx di belakang hidung, sedangkan thyroid di depan larynx. Berbeza kan. NPC ni actually adalah kanser yang jarang didapati. TETAPI, ia adalah kanser ke-4 paling kerap didapati di Malaysia dan ke-3 pembunuh dikalangan Lelaki. Ranking kedudukan setakat ini sehingga 2016 1- Breast Cancer 2- Colorectal Cancer 3- Lung Cancer 4- Nasopharyngeal Cancer (5.2%) Faktor Umur Umur yang kerap didapati menghidap NPC adalah di linkungan 40-60 tahun, namun beberapa kes juga dijumpai di kalangan remaja dan kanak-kanak (sangat jarang). umur paling muda pada 6 tahun kanak-kanak lelaki (1 case sahaja).
